About Me and Tone

My name is Amy Garbacz, Founder and Trainer at Tone. To be honest I never set out to be a Personal Trainer or a  certified sport and exercise nutrition coach. I kind of fell into it 15 years ago after working out with so many different friends just for fun. I would have the workouts so meticulously planned out that a few of them asked when I was going to start training people for a living. With a major in Chemistry/Math and Secondary Education it was an easy transition. I was lucky enough to  have gotten a Full Division 1 Scholarship for Track and Field which is where I gained most of the knowledge that I still use today. I have worked in a couple gyms and a bit on my own and I picked up some good things from both and always took mental notes in the hopes of opening the perfect space one day. During Covid when all the gyms were closed  I bought this beautiful hunk of metal and fell in love with it. I have never worked with a more compact versatile piece of gym equipment. I didn't think I would be comfortable teaching a 86 year old woman how to bench press but it happened. I never thought I would get the opportunity to open a training studio and get to do what I love best. To teach people the "how" and "why" of working out. Why lifting to put on muscle is literally the fountain of youth. Everything just falls into place after you pick up a weight for the first time or the first time in a long time. Instantly: mood and energy increase, then better sleep follows it makes you want to eat better which makes your sleep and workouts even better. Then your metabolism increases and you naturally burn more calories at rest. Lets not forget about fighting osteoporosis, increasing HGH, helping with insulin resistance, brain fog,  balancing out hormones naturally. Oh wait you will also  lose weight and look better naked.

“She is so flexible when it comes to my crazy work schedule and makes sure to always fit me in. Every day she pushes me harder towards my goals and expects a lot from me which keeps me motivated and goal oriented, without making me dread working out.”
